sharon osberg (SharonO) > To get to Zambia, we flew via bush plane to a small town in Botswana.  We then boarded a ferry along with local folks and assorted farm animals.  The Zambezi river forms a natural border between the two countries.
sharon osberg (SharonO) > This is a fishing trap.  People go back and forth across the river all day long casting this trap out, then collecting it.
sharon osberg (SharonO) > We had a close call at the Zambian immigration post... our hotel was supposed to have arranged for visas, but the immigration clerk just kept shaking her head no.  Eventually, her boss came over and pointed out she was looking on the wrong day.  Whew!  We got in.
sharon osberg (SharonO) > Our hotel was gorgeous and perfectly located adjacent to Victoria Falls.

sharon osberg (SharonO) > The hotel bordered a national park and there were no fences, so animals came and went as they pleased.

sharon osberg (SharonO) > The falls at sunset.  There's so much water flowing, it's difficult to see the actual falls through the heavy mist.  Every now and then, you can catch a peak, but it's short-lived.
