sharon osberg (SharonO) > On our first game drive (late afternon), we saw 2 wild dogs hunting. This is a very rare sight since there are only about 5000 of them left in the wild. You'll see more dogs near the end of our trip.

sharon osberg (SharonO) > Sunsets in Africa are spectacular. Every night, a huge, brilliant red sun slipped below the horizon. In African national parks, game drives must conclude by sundown. Because we were on private concessions, curfews didn't apply. We could stay out as long as we were willing. Unless something exciting was happening, we would stop driving just before sunset, have our "sundowners", then resume the game drive after dark.

sharon osberg (SharonO) > Our first night was amazing...after the wild dogs, we came upon a young leopard having his dinner (a pelican). This guy is approximately 1 year old and he's still learning the ropes from his mother, but on this night she let him hunt alone.
